Something about another opportunity

2017... The year 2017

I have been motivated to write again. I have had what some people would call a block, but this has been a huge block. More like wondering in what direction and how open to go... But i digress... Back to the topic in question.

So its July 2017, the 2nd half of the year, i remember times in the last few months when i thought, "wow this month is really fast!" Where did the time go?

Honestly, i guess i could have managed time better? You too? Ok. Admission is the first step on the path to confidently changing course.

Well? I guess i have been given another opportunity to have a go at life again... err, you too.

So i stumbled on Clark Kegley's videos on youtube and they are amazing. They kicked me in my "derriere" to be better and not wait for someone or a drastic situation to make me better. I've got to not be afraid to create the future i want.

So what has held me back, possibly the responsibilities of different titles of what my roles are and how i am - Christian daughter, sister, wife, friend, oh and did i forget to put good in front of these titles? Ok, i'll take it again, i have always thought of myself as a good daughter, quiet and all. Not given my family again hassles, good sister, good wife, good friend, and of course i am good and all, but honestly that's selling myself short. That is because i am an amazing person. Different, i like to think weird, in a way that is different and fun from what is deemed normal or ordinary but i might have just reduced my awesomeness to just being good and normal and quiet and peaceful.

Well, i am taking an oath today, to look inward and let me shine. I'm going to be awesome again, I have time, another opportunity. Forget waiting for TGIF and the weekends or public holiday to feel excited. Nope! Every morning i have the opportunity to open my eyes, before i close those gorgeous big brown eyes in the night, i need to be content in how awesome i have been that day. I need to have impressed myself with how rock star i have been. I need to slow down and smell the roses, you probably need to. What i have learnt is that everytime that is past can NEVER be taken back. So i need to pretty much impress myself with how much i invested my time wisely. Anywho...

Ok, so lets make this place buzzing with activity, once again!

Grateful For 2015

2015 has been a year, full of ups and downs.I got married in March, my two elder brothers got married too (March and April), a few of my friends too. I had a great time with my friends. 2015 started launching me to greater heights regarding my career.

In 2015, I had many tears, sad tears, happy tears, I was sad a lot and deeply happy too. I had a lot of beloved family times, my family grew bigger. I was blessed to be the best Aunt to the cutest baby girl  (Toni)and boy (Tobi). I've grown a lot too with more responsibilities.

I'm excited for the year 2016, I hope to be more aware of a lot!... and awaiting the blessings that eluded me, my husband, my family and friends in 2015. See you in the new year guys.

It will be a great ride!

Risking It All

I saw a movie this weekend, I think its titled The Remaining or something.

Anyways the movie was on the Rapture as described in Revelations... In the movie, the Rapture took place during the main characters' wedding reception. There were different things going on, people were going through the motions of life (the same motions that keep our minds full, and make us forget the more important things in life, Jesus)

The movie was an horror one, it scared me straight back to the real reason for life, christian living. Watching it, my husband said, 'so they turned Rapture to serious horror'. Well I guess its going to be unimaginable horror for those who are not raptured.. dealing with demons, the rulers of the world, then!

Oh well, ever since, I just realised, nothing is worth missing heaven for.

Even a Pastor, was left behind and he tried to help people explaining what was going on to those who had no idea what was going on. Urghhh...

I reckon Christianity is a race of honesty, between you and God, constantly surrendering to his will, that's the plan I want to jealously stick to... You too should try to

Its clear we are at end time. My Pastor will say, we are at the tail of the tail end.

When Life Gives You Lemons

Ok, so when life gives you lemons, get healthy....

Take the lemon, wash it, slice it, make lemon water and drink it.

Ahhh... Refreshing.

Lemon in water rejuvenates your skin. And for me, another major health benefit of drinking warm lemon water is that it paves way for losing weight faster, thus acting as a great weight loss remedy and simply put, it cleanses your system.

Welcoming me back!!!

Oh wow...

So, a lot has happened since my last post. Of course, a lot has, that was a whileee back.

A new government in Nigeria from a different party (exciting), a Lagos state government (err....), My siblings and I got married within a month in 2015 (now that's probably gist for another day). Many of my friends are getting married, putting to bed and I feel like a proud friend and really blessed. I'm happy we are all moving to new phases in life, generally.

I am excited and anxious to see what subsequent posts will be or feel like, because much water has passed under this bridge.

xoxo

And PS, the plan to be more regular, hehe

Nigerians are crazy... why not?

You know, i saw an ad in the papers last week and it was titled -  "Our Dancing President" and in the body of the advert was the question "Will the president be dancing if his daughter was among the girls that were kidnapped in Borno State?"

Is campaigning for a second term in power really more important that the lives and safety of Nigerians? On the other hand, I believe the spotlight shouldn't be on him alone. What of the other Presidential aspirants that tackle him everyday about his insensitivity, aren't they are all after the same thing - the reins of power. Must you be a President to impact your nation positively? Its either you have a heart that bleeds or you don't, with or without the political title.

There are more cases of kidnappings, ritual killings... basically the security in the country is worse than ever.
The quality of education is more decadent than ever. Abysmal. Case in point, 2014  JAMB results.
Power situation really isn't bad in my area tho, but i know its terrible in a lot of places.
Bankers are forced to look  every where for money, even under rocks.
Some roads are good, some are amazingly bad.

In my opinion, many Nigerians are frustrated because they think that no one cares for them, certainly not their government and that is why they do the things they do - rebel, steal, kill. These are terrible things to do, but look at the environment they grew up and live in to understand what we are being faced with. These are young able bodied people that should be engaged in agriculture or something productive. Not everybody should hold a white collar job.

Don't get me wrong, I will never think of justifying these evils, but lets look objectively at the problems, the root of them, to be able to proffer accurate solutions to them.

Well, it not all bad, sometimes we smile, we honestly to motivate ourselves too of course or we'll go crazy. there's a lot to make one scarred for life.

Sometimes I feel like our President knows what to do but he's not gutsy enough, but he is supposed the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces right? right? Other times i wonder if he really knows how to handle the problems.

I would not blame the current woes of the Country solely on the current administration. I believe its a combination of decades of unpatriotic leaders and leadership that have not provided clear direction while looting the nation's funds. This looting/stealing has cascaded down to the people such that its a norm to steal when you can.

On days when i care, I really worry about the future of the country.
