Nigerians are crazy... why not?

You know, i saw an ad in the papers last week and it was titled -  "Our Dancing President" and in the body of the advert was the question "Will the president be dancing if his daughter was among the girls that were kidnapped in Borno State?"

Is campaigning for a second term in power really more important that the lives and safety of Nigerians? On the other hand, I believe the spotlight shouldn't be on him alone. What of the other Presidential aspirants that tackle him everyday about his insensitivity, aren't they are all after the same thing - the reins of power. Must you be a President to impact your nation positively? Its either you have a heart that bleeds or you don't, with or without the political title.

There are more cases of kidnappings, ritual killings... basically the security in the country is worse than ever.
The quality of education is more decadent than ever. Abysmal. Case in point, 2014  JAMB results.
Power situation really isn't bad in my area tho, but i know its terrible in a lot of places.
Bankers are forced to look  every where for money, even under rocks.
Some roads are good, some are amazingly bad.

In my opinion, many Nigerians are frustrated because they think that no one cares for them, certainly not their government and that is why they do the things they do - rebel, steal, kill. These are terrible things to do, but look at the environment they grew up and live in to understand what we are being faced with. These are young able bodied people that should be engaged in agriculture or something productive. Not everybody should hold a white collar job.

Don't get me wrong, I will never think of justifying these evils, but lets look objectively at the problems, the root of them, to be able to proffer accurate solutions to them.

Well, it not all bad, sometimes we smile, we honestly to motivate ourselves too of course or we'll go crazy. there's a lot to make one scarred for life.

Sometimes I feel like our President knows what to do but he's not gutsy enough, but he is supposed the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces right? right? Other times i wonder if he really knows how to handle the problems.

I would not blame the current woes of the Country solely on the current administration. I believe its a combination of decades of unpatriotic leaders and leadership that have not provided clear direction while looting the nation's funds. This looting/stealing has cascaded down to the people such that its a norm to steal when you can.

On days when i care, I really worry about the future of the country.

Song of the day

For some reason, this song is my new national anthem. My darling igbo colleague (you know yourself) might just kill someone if she hears me sing this song again, lolll.

Make it count...

Oh dear... Its been a whileee...

A lot has happened. But instead of hiding in shame, sad about the long silence. i will smile, feel alive again and do what I love to do, so here I am again.

I'm now a year older since my last post, loll. I'm sure a number of people are  too. Oh well, a whole lot has happened, unique experiences with regards to family, friends, work, belief etc.

Again the way i see it, there's a lot more that will happen, a lot more to look forward too (bright future things) and I choose to be an active player in it. I will make my own good fortune, so should you.

Its never to late to grab the bull by its horns, at least its never too late until it is actually too late. The first quarter of the year is gone. The second quarter isn't on pause too, so life is really happening whether you just live for the weekends alone or you make everyday, anyday count. Don't be a mere observer, Its never to late to start take that class, travel and see the world, start that business, do more, enjoy life ... actually live.

The way i see it, its easy to live a simple life and be ordinary, another population statistic, but what if one chooses to be radical and extra-ordinary. I think of the Dangotes of our time and think of how they started their business and that leaves me sober, doing the maths in my head, i really should have started like yesterday. I don't have yesterday anymore, but i'm sure of now.
